Pedagogical Director
Responsibilities
- Develop, oversee, and enhance the educational curriculum in line with Montessori principles, ensuring it meets the developmental needs of children from 2 years and 6 months to 6 years old.
- Train, mentor, and support teaching staff in Montessori methods and the school’s pedagogical approach, fostering a consistent and high-quality educational environment.
- Monitor and evaluate classroom practices and children's progress, providing guidance to educators for individualized teaching strategies.
- Lead the coordination and planning of school activities, ensuring a balanced integration of educational, creative, and physical development programs.
- Establish clear communication channels with parents and staff, offering regular updates on curriculum developments and child progress.
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest levels of educational excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among staff to maintain the school’s status as a leading Montessori institution.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to align pedagogical goals with operational capabilities, including resource allocation and budget considerations.
Qualifications
- A degree in Education, preferably with a specialization in Early Childhood Education or a Montessori certification.
- Extensive experience in a pedagogical role within an educational setting, with a proven track record of curriculum development and staff leadership.
- A strong understanding of child development and educational psychology, ensuring a nurturing approach to the holistic growth of each child.
- Leadership qualities coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage teaching staff and engage with parents.
- Familiarity with educational best practices and regulatory standards specific to early childhood education.
- The ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that reflects the school's values and educational philosophy.
- Competency in administrative duties including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Fluency in English or French, with multilingual abilities considered an asset.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in Montessori education and leadership.
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions that benefit the school's pedagogical objectives and the well-being of the children.
