Responsibilities

  •  To be an example of Jesus' love and teaching to others through your personal life, dress, and relationships.
  • To mentor others to grow in their relationship with God and to make a decision to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior
  • To regularly attend, participate and lead in ministry and in programs of the local SDA Church.
  • To be prepared to participate and lead in ministry and in programs of the local SDA Church.

Daily/Routine Tasks

  1. Manual and online cash receipting.
  2. Banking
  3. Posting all financial transactions into the Sunplus system
  4. Filing all journal listings
  5. Preparing cheques for payments.
  6. Attending to parents and students' queries on school fees.
  7. Petty cash handling.
  8. Review and analyze all disbursements and ensure that they are numerically accurate, correctly coded and have authentic and sufficient backups before capturing.
  9. Regular Sunplus system backup.
  10. Financial records keeping.

Monthly Duties

  1. Prepare and post student monthly fees charges
  2. Follow up on a student fees receivables
  3. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation by the 10th of each month
  4. Prepare monthly inter-organization reconciliation.
  5. Enter organization memo management (receiving, sending and capturing)
  6. Asset register management.
  7. Inventory management
  8. Payroll preparation by the 25th of each month
  9. Financial statement preparation and reporting
  10. Timely preparation and remittance of tax, social security and tithe.

Annual Duties

  1. Prepare and present the annual budget to the School Board for approval.
  2. Prepare and participate in the annual GCAS audit
  3. Physical count of inventory and assets.

Qualifications

Experience Required: Previous experience in working as accountant or
finance officer and equipped in using Sunplus system.
Languages: Engling (Fluent)
Minimum Educational Preferred: 4 Years College/University

Attire

Acceptable Dress: Modest attire. Teachers must dress as described below.

WOMEN:

  • Work—modest blouse/collared shirt, dress pants (NO JEANS)/loose fitting skirt/dress below the knee;
  • Church—modest blouse, loose-fitting skirt/dress below the knee. [Please wear slips under skirts and dresses.]
  • Recreation—modest knee-length shorts, T-shirts; shorts & shirt required for swimming.

MEN:

  • Work—collared shirt, long professional pants (NO JEANS):
  • Church—dress pants, collared dress shirt.
  • Recreation—modest shorts/T-shirts, modest swimwear.

Unacceptable Dress: Tight and/or short shorts, clothing with low cleavages, short/sheer blouses or dresses, T-shirts with negative slogans/logos, bikinis, or revealing swimwear. Jewelry, dreadlocks, piercings, visible tattoos, extreme haircuts/styles. Please do not bring jewelry.

Accommodations

  • Shared accommodation in a concrete building.
  • Includes basic furniture, shared AVS kitchen, shared AVS bathroom, fridge, stove, fans or A/C, 220V electrical.
  • One set of towels and one set of bedding is provided.
  • Basic cooking and eating utensils are provided. Basic housekeeping supplies are provided.
  • Beyond these things, the volunteer is responsible to bring or purchase anything else he/she may want or need.

Restrictions

Special arrangements need to be made for married volunteers prior to approval as there is currently no married volunteer housing.

Compensation

USD 300.00

Additional

The monthly living allowance is enough to cover food and other monthly expenses if the volunteer chooses to live simply and eat primarily a local diet, rather than buying all the imported food, eating out regularly, or spending a lot of money/time on the internet. It is optional to fundraise an additional USD 100-150/month for more comfortable living.

The monthly allowance stated above is the amount that they will receive after tithe, tax, and housing costs have been deducted.
