Responsibilities
- Design and establish a healthy, balanced pesco-vegetarian menu that caters to the nutritional needs of both children and staff, ensuring variety and dietary considerations are thoughtfully addressed.
- Prepare and cook daily lunch meals, focusing on freshness, quality, and taste, while also adhering to safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or certification in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field, with a focus on vegetarian cuisine.
- Proven experience in menu planning and meal preparation, particularly in settings such as schools, daycares, or similar environments.
- Extensive knowledge of nutritional requirements for children and adults, especially in creating balanced, healthy vegetarian meals that cater to various dietary needs.
- Proficient cooking skills with a strong ability to prepare a wide range of vegetarian dishes that are both nutritious and appealing.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and adherence to hygiene practices essential for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Competency in managing kitchen inventory, including the efficient ordering and storage of ingredients.
- Exceptional organizational skills for effectively planning menus and preparing meals within designated time frames.
- A passion for promoting healthy eating habits, with an enthusiasm for educating children and staff on the importance and benefits of a vegetarian diet.
- Creativity in recipe development, with an aptitude for adapting menus to incorporate seasonal produce and accommodate dietary restrictions.
