Youth Volunteer - Boarding House

Responsibilities
Assist the current Chaplaincy team at Carmel Adventist College in the holistic (spiritual, social, emotional) pastoral care of students, staff and the wider school community, with a priority and focus on the Boarding House:
- Support the vision, mission and purpose of Carmel Adventist College by "revealing Jesus".
- Follow the policies, procedures and day-to-day practices of the Boarding House and College.
- Build positive rapport with students and staff.
- Lead daily 'family' worship for the whole Boarding house.
- Lead Bible studies when requested.
- Encourage students to maintain a healthy and positive environment by taking care of themselves, respecting each other and the boarding house.
- Spend time with students in recreational activities, team building and weekend socials and play a key role in organising and facilitating the activities.
- Assist in conflict resolution.
- Assist the Boarding parents and Chaplains as requested.
Qualifications
- Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission.
- Adaptable with the capacity to live and work within a new culture.
- The proven capacity to positively relate to a wide range of people.
- Should be well organised.
- Possess common sense, tact, sensitivity and patience.
- The ability to keep confidences.
- Must have a drivers licence.
- At least 1 year of tertiary education is preferred.
- English (Fluent - both spoken and written).
Attire
Modest, conservative clothing.
Accommodations
Private bedroom provided with a wardrobe, drawers and a window view in an air-conditioned building. Own bathroom and toilet. Internet access, electricity in bedroom, washing machine, dryer. Common room and gymnasium (basketball, volleyball etc.) access.

- Up to $2000 AUD towards return airfare.

Compensation
Monthly Living Allowance: $600 Australian Dollars

- Must be 18-30 years old to meet the VISA requirement for Australia.
