Duties: |
The Task Force Volunteer at Holbrook Indian School is crucial to the support of our staff and students. This
role works with multiple departments and is required to work up to 40 hours a week. The TFV will gain
experience working in a classroom, dorm, cafeteria and outdoor settings. They will learn how to supervise
students, provide academic support and build community. This is a great opportunity for those who want to
take a year off to do mission work, fulfill internship requirements or give back to serve the least of these. It is a
tough role that will help you grow in your relationship with God, give you a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Task Force Volunteer Qualifications:
● Be a positive Christian role model for the students and uphold the standards of the Seventh-day
Adventist church.
● Have the willingness and ability to relate/connect with Native American students.
● Have a commitment, interest and understanding in establishing and maintaining a helping relationship
with students on a daily basis.
● Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
● Flexible, open and eager to learn job functions.
● Must pass a background check, have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years of age for
insurance purposes
Task Force Volunteer Responsibilities:
● Supervise anywhere between 40-70 male and female students in common areas.
● Supervise anywhere between 20-30 male or female students in the dorm setting.
● Supervise male and female students in the library during DEAR time(Free time).
● Assist in the planning, coordination and facilitation of dorm programs and student supervision.
● Help with a nightly routine which includes chores, study hall and bedtime.
● Complete all required documentation on our online database system when necessary.
● Attend Dorm Staff meetings
● Assist with students homework to provide academic support and ease their transition to the campus
environment.
● Aid the elementary teacher with supervision, tutoring and classroom preparation.
● Help with leading worship.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Dean or Administration.
