Duties:     Volunteer will teach High School Science Classes via internet instruction from Guam to various Guam Micronesian Mission islands. Volunteer responsible to lesson plan, grade homework, instruct students in using GMM provided NAD approved teaching materials. Classes are generally conducted from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Acceptable Dress: Men work in the office in long pants (no jeans) but may wear long shorts off campus or after work. Men must wear collared shirts to church meetings. Women may wear dresses/skirts or pants/capris when working in the GMM office. When traveling to the outer islands, women must wear dresses or long skirts.
Unacceptable Dress:  Tight and/or short shorts are not acceptable.

Lodging:   Lodging provided at the nearby GMM housing area. Housing and vehicles will be shared with other single volunteers. Apartments are 2 bedroom, kitchen, living room and dining room. Each bedroom has two twin beds and will be occupied with 2 persons.

Experience Required:   Volunteer should have a love for the sciences and have a solid understanding of science and biology and be able to speak English fluently.

Trade/Skills: Since all instruction is conducted via the internet, computer compentancy is required. Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude. Be able to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given

Additional Information
Guam is a great place to live and work. Outdoor leisure activities include diving, snorkeling, boating, hiking, and surfing. Guam has the feel of small island life with benefits of Stateside restaurants and shopping. The Adventist young adult population is strong with group activities taking place on a regular basis. Orientation will be provided beginning January 5, 2021 at 8:30am in the Guam Micronesian Headquarters. ***For volunteers from divisions other than NAD, please work with your Division Volunteer Coordinator regarding important ticketing information.
