Duties:     Duties include but are not limited to: daily management of this K-12 Adventist school, hiring and supervision of school staff (including 24-hour supervision and care of volunteer staff), responsibility for all academic affairs, management of school/student issues on campus, oversight of all grounds and maintenance needs, regular communication with the GMM education department including the submission of requested documents and information, participation at all duly-called principals' meetings, etc. all in cooperation with the local school board. This person will also be involved with religious activities on campus and be in regular church attendance.

The principal will:
a. By precept and example seek to uphold Christ as Friend and Lord and endeavor to lead students and staff to a similar understanding.
b. Maintain (or oversee the maintenance of) and submit as requested careful records of enrollment, scholastic performance, financial statements and budgets, calendars, board meeting minutes, and others as needed.
c. Prepare and chair regularly scheduled staff meetings.
d. Create (or oversee the creation of) the student and staff handbooks/bulletins.
e. Regularly attend church services and events and assist your volunteers as needed in their ministries in church programs(Sabbath School classes for all ages that need leaders and assistants, Pathfinder club, youth meetings during the week, door-to-door and prison ministries, etc.) according to talents and abilities.

Acceptable Dress: Men teach in long pants (no jeans) but may wear shorts off campus or after school. Men must wear collared shirts to church meetings. Women must always wear loose fitting skirts and dresses past the knee when going off campus or "in public" on campus. Women may wear modest shorts, slacks or pants only on campus in the evening or when exercising.
Unacceptable Dress:  Women - Tight and/or short shorts are never acceptable, nor sleeveless or sheer blouses or dresses. A conservative hairstyle is preferred for men and women. Please refrain from bringing or wearing jewelry.

Chuuk State in the country of the Federated States of Micronesia consists of many beautiful tropical island atolls. Our Chuuk SDA School is located close to the capital city of Weno on the island of Moen in a small fenced compound that also includes the Weno Seventh-day Adventist Church and the school's volunteer staff housing. This K-12 school usually has 150-180 students taught by AVS missionaries and local teachers. Important Orientation Information: Plan to arrive at Honolulu, Hawaii, on Monday, July 26, 2020. Principals' meetings are held July 27-29. Principal/Chaplain/HS Bible teacher NAD HS Bible curriculum training is July 27 and the morning of July 28. Arrival date for other volunteer teachers is Friday, July 31, 2020. They register between 12:00 and 6:00 p.m. or as soon as they arrive. The orientation evening meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. Departure to the island schools is on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. ***For volunteers from divisions other than NAD, please work with your Division Volunteer Coordinator regarding important ticketing information with MTS Travel. Division Volunteer Coordinator contact your respective GC coordinator for further information. Pay special attention to the visa information.
