Duties:     Full-time position (Monday-Friday for 8 hours between 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. depending on need) for a young, friendly, energetic, self-motivated and organized preschool and kindergarten teacher at the Bilingual Preschool "Sonlight". The leading organization is the SDA Polish College of Theology and Humanities and the preschool is the first one which officially belongs to the SDA church since 2018.

There are four categories of responsibilities which belong to the teacher:
1. Leading the school day according to the already established schedule and curriculum. The day includes a Bible story, second breakfast, free/structured indoor/outdoor play, preschool lesson (according to the Sonlight curriculum), and according to the day of the week, either art, music, or theatre activities. Later is lunch, nap/quiet time, and free/structured indoor/outdoor play.

2. Filling in attendance and lesson topics in the register as well as communicating with the parents (via the Polish teacher you team teach with) at the beginning of the week what material and topics the children will be learning.

3. Assisting the children in using the restroom (this can sometimes include help with wiping), washing their hands, cleaning up after their spills and accidents (of any kind), and keeping the classroom neat and clean.

4. Organizing/ helping organize field trips, holiday programs and outreach programs as well as decorating the classroom/ hallway boards, windows, and walls with seasonal/holiday related materials and the children’s work. Monthly progress reports (written with the help of the Polish teacher) should also be sent home or handed to the parents during parent-teacher meetings.

Acceptable Dress: Comfortable, but clean, neat looking clothes when in the classroom.
Unacceptable Dress:  Women: Gaudy Jewelry and gaudy make-up, very short skirts and very low tops. Men and Women: Any clothing with offensive writing or pictures, visible tattoos and/or strange piercings.

Lodging:   AVs receive on-campus housing in the two-story faculty block "B" in a studio flat which is from 12-16 m2 in size. The flat is fully furnished and contains a living area, kitchen (with fridge, stove, oven, electric kettle, sink, and cabinets) and a bathroom (with toilet, sink, mirror, and shower.) The furniture in each of the flats slightly differs but what can be expected in each is a square table with foldable chairs for eating and using as a desk (an additional desk can be provided), An Ikea futon (sofa by day, fold down doublebed by night), decorative shelves and at least one wardrobe with closet and hangers. Housekeeping supplies (as in chemical cleaning products) are supplied by the AV according to preference whereas mop and bucket, broom and dust pan and vacuum are provided by the calling organization. There are also misc. decorative items like rugs, table covers, chair cushions, sofa covers and throw pillows. The flats comes with a plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, utensils (cutlery and cooking utensils), pots, and pans and ironing board, iron, and clothes rack for drying clothes. All bedding (pillows, covers, sheets, etc.) and towels are provided. Internet is provided at the cost of the calling organization. Two washing machines are located in the basement of the building and the costs of using these machines is covered by the calling organization. Other Medical Recommendations Due to the nature of being away from home for so many months and the overcast, short days during the winter months, we recommend from experience that only those individuals with good physical and psychological health consider this position. From experience, it would be best if an individual who has previously or is currently being treated for depression, has taken or is taking anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medication consider a different AV position and location. High doses of vitamin D during the winter months is a must!
