Duties: |
Duties include but are not limited to: daily management of this PreK-12 Adventist school; hiring, supervision, and evaluation of school staff (including 24-hour supervision and care of volunteer staff); responsibility for all academic affairs, management of school/student issues on campus, oversight of all grounds and maintenance needs, regular communication with the GMM Education department including the submission of requested documents and information, participation at all duly-called principals' meetings, etc. all in cooperation with the local school board. This person will also be involved with religious activities on campus and in their local church.
The principal will:
a. By precept and example seek to uphold Christ as Friend and Lord and endeavor to lead students and staff to a similar understanding.
b. Maintain (or oversee the maintenance of) and submit as requested careful records of enrollment, scholastic performance, financial statements and budgets, calendars, board meeting minutes, and others as needed.
c. Prepare and chair regularly-scheduled staff meetings.
d. Create (or oversee the creation of) and make annual revisions to the student and staff handbooks/bulletins.
e. Regularly attend church services and events and assist your staff as needed in their ministries in church programs (Sabbath School classes, Pathfinder club, youth meetings, door-to-door and prison ministries, etc.) according to talents and abilities. |

Men teach in long pants (no jeans) but may wear shorts off campus or after school. Men must wear collared shirts to church meetings. Women may wear loose fitting skirts and dresses past the knee or modest dress slacks when working. Women may wear long, modest shorts, slacks or pants when going off campus. |

Saipan is the capital island of the US Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to the north of Guam. Our Saipan SDA Elementary School is an EC-8 school located on beautiful grounds. Over 100 students attend PreK through grade 8 plus the 3 Early Childhood rooms are filled to capacity.
Important Orientation Information: Plan to attend the student missionary Orientation meetings, arriving at Honolulu International Airport (HNL), Hawaii, on July, 27, 2020 for principal's meetings. With the SM Orientation beginning Friday, July 31 which begin at 6:15 p.m. that evening. Departure to the island schools is on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, on UA201 to Guam, arriving on Thursday, August 6, and then proceeding to Saipan the next morning, August 7, on UA174.
Applicants need to hold a current US work permit or US passport. This is because of local visa restrictions and limitations on Saipan.
