Duties:
Teaching Conversational English and Bible classes at the Hiroshima English School which is 80KM from the JUC office. Plan and take part in activities for ELS. Support church activities. Take part in Evangelistic Series. Teach English Sabbath School lessons. Build relationships with the community and encourage English School students to take part in ELS and Church activities.

Acceptable Dress:
Men: Dress slacks, a dress shirt & tie, blazer or suit during the months of October to May. Women: Dresses, skirts/blouse, pants suits, dress shoes. Ladies: Modest dress, skirt & blouse or dress suit. Slacks if dress appropriate.
Unacceptable Dress:
Jeans and shorts of any kind are not to be worn during school hours or on premises unless activity requires them. No thongs allowed at the school location. No sleeveless tops or open shoes. (some places have a lot of walking as well as the weather is cold) There are 4 seasons here.

Return airfare paid upon completion of full term. If possible, please purchase round trip one year ticket. Due to varying costs, compare a one way versus a round trip one year ticket including taxes, airport surcharges, etc. For those who request an advance in funds, once you decide which way is most economical, send your itinerary and cost to JLS. Bring a copy of the receipt to JLS and they will prepare an agreement of repayment after you arrive.

There will be time for question and answer before you come. During orientation approximately 2 hours is alloted to talking about the policy book guidelines for AVS teachers in Japan as well.
