Duties:     Children’s Ministry Provider (~3 hrs/day, 5 days/week + Sabbath duties)
1) Provide well-prepared spiritual/educational/recreational learning activities for a variable-sized (usually 6-15) group of children ages 4-12, one hour per day, five evenings a week, while their parents/caregivers are attending a Twelve-Step addiction recovery meeting.
2) Follow up with children/families with home visits and personal relationships.
3) Invite/motivate children and their families to participate in church-related activities such as home Bible studies, Sabbath services, Pathfinder Club.
4) Involvement with children’s ministry on Sabbaths as needed.
5) Involvement with Pathfinder Club as schedule permits.
Christian Elementary School Assistant (~5 hrs/day, 4 days/wk)
1) Assist teacher as needed (sorting and grading papers; helping to record papers in an online gradebook).
2) Assist students individually (math, reading, other as needed).
3) Assist with supervision of students as needed (physical education, recess, field trips, other).
4) Assist with hot breakfast/lunch and janitorial work as needed; transportation backup if age 21 and a licensed driver.
5) Substitute teacher as needed (occasional; short term)

Requirements Essential: o At least 19 years of age, prefer 21+. o Baptized Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing; will demonstrate commitment to Jesus by living a consistent Christian life. Will attend Sabbath services regularly. Weekend absences should be occasional and only by advance arrangement with the pastor. o Online background check and child safety training must be completed before arriving on campus. o Deep desire for personal spiritual growth, and a passion for sharing Jesus’ love with others. o High interest in people (Christians/non-Christians; children/adults) in the church, school, and community. o Personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle; able to be physically active. Preferred: o Has personal vehicle and valid US driver’s license. o Able to lead group singing. o Computer skills Expectations Social Behavior: o Respect for and interest in the Navajo way of life is essential for developing trusting relationships. This includes respect for clan relationships, for the land, for the language and for traditional cultural practices (while maintaining awareness that there are also demonic elements in Navajo culture as in all cultures). o Volunteers are expected to refrain from any local romantic relationships during the term of service.
