Duties:     Project Description:
The project consists of supporting all the evangelistic work in the Island, in the following way:
• Attend Bible studies derived from contacts of the brothers of the church and new contacts.
• Accompany the work of the brothers who are biblical instructors supporting the baptismal decisions of the students of the Bible.
• Direct and organize together with local leaders activities to attract the community such as health fairs and community assistance according to local needs.
• Give English classes to the community (with the help of a native teacher).
• Start a Pathfinder Club by preparing leaders and working with children and their parents to bring them to church.
• Address the spiritual needs of the brothers through visitation and counseling.
• Present work reports on a regular basis to the Field Evangelist and the SVA Coordinator.

Acceptable Dress: Semi formal clothes for missionary visits during the week which includes dress pants, comfortable shoes and guayabera, which can be purchased in the same local place. Sabbaths attire must be guayabera, trousers and formal shoes. During free time sport or casual wear is acceptable.
Unacceptable Dress:  Is any clothing contrary to the rules of the document "Adventist Christian life style (earrings, bracelets, piercing).

Lodging:   The volunteer will stay in the house of Adventist brothers where they will have an exclusive room and bathroom shared with the rest of the residents. Food and transportation expenses will be provided by the local church. The climate throughout the year is tropical ranging between 10º and 20º Celsius.

Qualifications   (Legally, "experience required" must be related to specific duties of position.)
Experience Required:   The volunteer must be a dynamic leader, who mobilize the church and has the ability to relate positively to the coordinating pastor in charge of the church, with the evangelist of the field and the Coordinator SVA. It must have experience in the gain of souls, public evangelism, small groups and churches. Preferably must be theological studies or have completed a theological course of pregravity. You must have experience in working with other cultures.

Additional Information
Easter Island (Rapa Nui - Easter Island) is a very special place, as its inhabitants are not very fond of foreigners, unless these are short - term visitors like tourists. The volunteer must be very careful in the treatment of the Islanders and possess an excellent ability of adaptation. After arriving at Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (Santiago de Chile), another 5 - hour flight to the island must be taken. Before travelling to the island, the volunteer will receive an induction into the city of Viña Del Mar, where the volunteer will stay for a few days.
