Duties:     The volunteer will be assigned to do the following:
1. Serve in the Tasba Raya Clinic,
2. Work in the clinic during regularly scheduled hours,
3. Maintain records in the clinic,
4. Maintain mobile records,
5. Participate in mobile clinics,
6. Participate in health outreach programs.
7. Do monthly reports of service and cooperation with other programs and individuals,
8. Study the Miskito language on site.

Acceptable Dress: Scrubs and comfortable shoes. For church and school functions dress pants for men, regular Sabbath dress for women.

Lodging:   The men's dorm & women's dorm provide bunk beds, table and chair. Supplies are purchased in Puerto Cabezas and Waspan for the kitchen and personal needs usually once or twice a month. The computer and email office is available at scheduled times so all have access to it at least once a week.

Experience Required:   RN, Nurse practitioners, LVN. Must be self-motivated and willing to learn frontier nursing.
Languages:  Spanish(Fluent) Prefered, English(Average) Optional
Minimum Education Preferred:  Associate Degree
Concentration: Health Teaching & maternal/child care.
Trade/Skills: Licensure- a copy of license will be required.

Visa renewal is also volunteers responsibility. Bicycle purchase in Nicaragua encouraged for village travel. Renewal of visa which is every 6 months is usually done by traveling to Costa Rica and coming back. This is about $600 if using flight or $350 if by bus. Project Expenses: Health teaching focusing on the school children, the women and health leaders of the community via seminars and educational materials and radio broadcasting. Optional for fund raising and NOT a requirement.
