Who Will Show Them?

Glenn Coon tells the story of a little girl who was lost in the great city of London. Finding the little one in this sad plight, the police tried to help her.
"What is your name?"
"Patsy."
"Patsy-what?"
"I don't know."
"What's your daddy's name?"
"I don't know," wailed the child.
"Where do you live?"

Vernon B Parmenter, Associate Secretary, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Director, Adventist Volunteer Center.

"I don't know," was all they could get for a reply. The poor little tot was too frightened, confused and bewildered to give them any information.
The police pointed out one building after another, hoping they might mention something she would recognize as being near her home. But there was no response from the frightened child. The various places and objects they mentioned meant nothing to her.
"What shall we do?" they questioned.
Then one of the officers thought of the giant cross on the top of one of London's cathedrals. "Do you know the big cross on top of the cathedral?" he asked.
At this the little girl's eyes brightened. "Yes. Oh yes!" she exclaimed. "Take me to the cross. I can find my way home from there." Path to the Heart, pages 29,30.
There are confused, frustrated, lost children of God all over this old world. They are trying to find a marker or a person who will show them the way home. They need something or someone who will show them the way to the cross so that they might see Jesus who died for them.
Romans 10:14, 15 states it very clearly, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'" TNIV
There are people who will never be able to believe in Christ until someone tells them about Him, until someone preaches to them either by the way they live or by the words they speak. God is seeking men, women and young people who are willing to go. And if you are willing He will SEND you! And when you GO what joy and beauty there is when you carry good news.
"Will those who profess to believe the truth stand in idleness, when Satan and his hosts work with intense activity for the overthrow of the cause of truth? Will the professed followers of Christ allow him to preoccupy the field? Who will be a VOLUNTEER to witness for God in these far-off lands? Who will open the Scriptures to those who are ignorant of the words of life? Who will let his light shine out to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death? EGW, The Home Missionary, "Ye are my Witnesses,"

"Though precious time and talent have been spent in caring for and pleasing ourselves, the hand of the Lord is stretched out still; and if we will work today in His vineyard, scattering His invitation of mercy broadcast through the world, He will accept our service. How many will you work for, that they may reach the haven of rest and share the commendation: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"? How many will you help to crown with glory and honor and eternal life? The Saviour calls for workers. Will you volunteer?" 6T304, EGW.
